Job Summary
We are seeking a Digital Systems & Integration Coordinator to help improve the way information and digital systems connect across the Transcendental Meditation Movement.
The purpose of this role is to identify areas where fragmented systems, isolated data and manual processes create unnecessary work, and to coordinate practical digital solutions that allow information to flow more efficiently and securely between authorised organisations.
Working within the Ministry of Communication (IT Department), the role will connect organisational needs with appropriate technology, helping establish shared systems, integrations, APIs and data standards while ensuring privacy, security and GDPR requirements are respected.
Responsibilities
Improve digital connectivity across the Movement
- Identify important processes where information is currently duplicated, isolated or exchanged manually between organisations and Ministries.
- Map how information currently flows and identify opportunities for simplification and automation.
- Help organisations develop common approaches to sharing trusted information.
Coordinate system integration projects
- Lead or coordinate projects connecting existing databases and digital systems.
- Define requirements for APIs and other secure methods of exchanging information.
- Work with developers, IT teams, national offices and Movement organisations to implement solutions.
- Coordinate pilot projects, such as a shared system for verifying meditator status.
Develop shared standards and good practices
- Help define standards for data structure, access, ownership and system interoperability.
- Promote secure, GDPR-conscious and privacy-by-design approaches.
- Encourage solutions that can be reused and expanded across different organisations rather than creating additional isolated systems.
Support digital transformation
- Identify opportunities where automation and better use of technology can save time and resources.
- Help leadership understand where improved information flows can support faster and better decision-making.
- Document successful solutions so they can be adopted by other Movement organisations.
Enable responsible use of AI
- Establish practical guidance on which AI tools may be used, and what categories of Movement or personal data may and may not be put into them
- Evaluate AI tools before adoption: data processing terms, training-data usage, retention, hosting location, and the vendor agreements required
- Identify where AI can genuinely reduce manual work (document processing, translation, transcription, summarisation, classification, first-line support) and pilot it on a small scale before recommending wider use
- Ensure integration and data-structuring work leaves the Movement's information in a state where AI tools can be applied usefully and safely
- Keep AI use consistent with GDPR and the EU AI Act, including transparency obligations and restrictions on automated decision-making about individuals
- Help colleagues use AI well through simple guidance and shared examples, rather than through prohibition
About You
You are someone who naturally sees connections between people, processes and technology.
You enjoy understanding how organisations work, identifying unnecessary complexity and finding simpler ways of doing things. You can communicate comfortably with both technical and non-technical colleagues and are able to translate organisational needs into practical digital solutions.
You are collaborative, structured and proactive, and you are interested not only in building individual systems but in creating a more connected digital ecosystem for the Movement.
The ideal candidate:
- Thinks in systems, not projects: asks whether a solution works for the next five organisations, not just the one asking
- Is willing to say no: resists building bespoke one-off systems even when a department really wants one
- Is pragmatic: ships a working integration this quarter rather than designing the perfect architecture for next year
- Is genuinely curious about how organisations work: enjoys interviewing people about their process and finding the real bottleneck
- Is rigorous about personal data: treats privacy as a design constraint from the start, not a compliance step at the end
- Is self-directed and communicative: works part-time and remotely across time zones, and keeps stakeholders informed without being chased
- Is discreet and trustworthy: will see data and internal processes across the whole Movement
Skills and Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in system integration, solution architecture, technical business analysis, or digital project delivery
- Practical experience designing or consuming REST APIs — authentication (OAuth 2.0, API keys), JSON, webhooks, error handling, rate limits
- Ability to analyse organisational processes and translate them into technical requirements.
- Understanding of data protection, GDPR, information security and appropriate access controls.
- Working SQL and relational data modelling — able to read a schema, understand what a system actually stores, and design a sensible shared data structure
- Hands-on experience with at least one integration or automation platform (Make, Zapier, n8n, Workato, Power Automate or similar)
- Experience coordinating technology or digital-transformation projects.
- Ability to work effectively with developers as well as non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and project-management skills.
- Experience working across multiple organisations, countries or remote teams is desirable.
- Familiarity with the structure and activities of the Transcendental Meditation Movement is highly desirable.
- Fluency in English, written and verbal.
- TM practitioner; deeper involvement or experience within the Movement would be an advantage.
If you are passionate about this work but do not have all of the skills listed we are still interested in speaking with you and encourage you to apply!
Compensation
Depending on available resources, the role could initially begin through a defined project or pilot and develop into a permanent position as its value to Movement organisations becomes established.
Non-monetary benefits could include participation in relevant training and professional development, opportunities to attend Movement programmes and courses where appropriate, and the opportunity to contribute to significant improvements in how the global Movement operates.
