Job Summary
We are seeking an on-location IT & Infrastructure Specialist to keep MERU's physical technology running: the network that connects the campus, the telephony that connects the Movement, and the day-to-day technical support that every department on site depends on. You will also manage the technical operation of Maharishi Channel, ensuring that broadcasts and streams reach their audience reliably.
This is a hands-on role. When the WiFi drops in a lecture hall, when a new office needs cabling, when a course participant cannot get online, or when a broadcast must go out without interruption, you are the person who makes it work.
Responsibilities
Network and infrastructure
- Maintain and improve the campus network: switching, routing, structured cabling, patch panels and WiFi coverage
- Configure and maintain the firewall, network segmentation and remote access
- Monitor network performance and internet connectivity; diagnose and resolve outages
- Manage the relationship with internet and connectivity providers on site
- Plan and carry out cabling and access-point installation for new or reorganised spaces
- Maintain accurate documentation: network diagrams, IP allocations, device inventory, cabling records
- Maintain physical infrastructure conditions-power, UPS, cooling, cable management
Telephony
- Manage MERU’S SIM cards: allocation, activation, plans, usage monitoring and provider relationship
- Administer and maintain the IP phone system: extensions, call routing, voicemail, handset provisioning
- Support users with phone setup and troubleshooting, on desk phones and mobile devices
- Keep an accurate register of which numbers, SIMs and devices are assigned to whom
Campus technical support
- Provide first- and second-line support to residents, staff and course participants at MERU
- Set up, maintain and repair workstations, laptops, printers and peripherals
- Support meeting rooms and lecture halls: projection, displays, audio, conferencing hardware
- Operate a clear request and ticketing process so users know their issue is logged and where it stands
- Onboard and offboard people on site-device handover, account setup in coordination with the remote Platform Administrator, secure return and wipe of equipment
Maharishi Channel-technical operation
- Maintain and operate the technical chain for Maharishi Channel: encoders, streaming hardware, signal routing and playout
- Monitor live broadcasts and respond immediately to technical faults
- Maintain the studio and broadcast technical equipment at MERU
- Coordinate with the content and production teams so that technical requirements are met ahead of each broadcast
- Test and prepare the setup for major events and international broadcasts
- Manage the CDN
Security and continuity
- Apply firmware and security updates to network and infrastructure equipment
- Maintain and test on-site backup arrangements
- Ensure physical security of network and server equipment
